Luminant today released the following statement regarding the safety and reliability of its nuclear power plant in light of the impact of recent seismic events:

Luminant's highest priority each and every day is the safety of our neighbors, employees and plants. Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant was designed to meet the stringent requirements of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Further, its seismic design meets all national codes, standards and regulations, ensuring a substantial safety margin with respect to earthquakes and other seismic activity.
