Luminant released the following statement regarding today’s report from the Electric Reliability Council of Texas:
Since the Environmental Protection Agency’s Cross-State Air Pollution Rule was released earlier this summer, Luminant has asserted that if it is implemented on January 1, 2012 without significant changes, it will have a negative impact on reliability in the ERCOT market.
This record-breaking summer, coupled with projections for increasing demand and growth, illustrates the need for every megawatt of generation to maintain a reliable, continuous supply of electricity.
