  • Luminant Statement Regarding Milam County, Texas Jury Verdict
06.3.2010 Written by

DALLAS -

Luminant today released the following statement regarding the jury verdict in the civil trial against Luminant initiated by Alcoa:

Luminant is pleased that the jury agrees with Luminant that Alcoa's claims related to the operation of Sandow 4 were without merit. The jury unequivocally rejected Alcoa's request for monetary damages.

“We are a company that cares deeply about our reputation and we are dedicated to honoring our responsibilities and commitments,” said Luminant CEO David Campbell. “I am very pleased the jury affirmed our position,” Campbell added.

Luminant vigorously defended itself against these unsupported claims throughout the three-week trial and appreciate the dedication of the jury.

Luminant looks forward to moving past this trial and is committed to continuing our core mission of helping power Texas with cleaner, reliable power. Further, we remain fully committed to investing and hiring in Central Texas and being a part of the economic success of Milam County.
