Ricky Foster, Luminant regional safety manager, was recently honored with the Working Together for a Safer Tomorrow award by the Safety Council of East Texas for his consistent promotion of safety both on the job and off.
Foster first became involved with the council several years ago when he recognized an opportunity for further safety training for contractors. He contacted the Safety Council to help provide those safety skills before new crews arrived on site, and has also used them as a resource for new safety training ideas for Luminant employees.
“I know everyone has family that they get to go home to and I want to do everything I can to make the environment and safety culture as good as it can be,” explains Foster.
Adds Rick Wall, council president of operations, “Mr. Foster’s high standards for safety compliance and improvement in the workplace are consistent with what is required by his employer and federal standards. It is a pleasure to add Mr. Foster’s name to our plaque of previous recipients at the council.”
