TXU's officer-level Diversity Steering Committee sets the direction for managing diversity initiatives, monitors progress, and recommends and implements corporate strategies for diversity. The Diversity Council, which involves employees from all business units and is open to all employee levels, provides input and feedback to the Steering Committee, and the council members serve as Diversity Champions across TXU. Business units have Diversity Site Councils, which assist with programs and activities that support diversity goals within the business organizations. The Steering Committee and the councils are guided by the TXU Workforce Diversity Business Plan and work collectively toward the high-level goals of improving customer and community loyalty; recruiting, developing, and retaining diverse talent; and making TXU a great place to work.
TXU's commitment to a diverse workforce includes college recruiting initiatives, internal mentoring programs, and year-round recognition for employees making a difference.
