Power Plants

Luminant's generation subsidiary, Luminant Power, has a balanced portfolio of generation plants. This diverse fleet includes gas, nuclear and lignite-coal fueled plants.

In addition to nuclear and fossil fuel-produced power, Luminant's wholesale subsidiary, Luminant Energy, purchases wind-generated, renewable energy to supply the needs of the competitive market. Luminant Energy is currently the largest purchaser of wind generation in Texas and the fifth-largest contractor for wind power in the U.S., providing enough energy to power more than 137,000 homes -- or to supply the annual energy needs of about 316,000 Texans.
