Luminant Announces Agreement with Sierra Club and Public Citizen
Luminant today announced that it has collaborated with Sierra Club and Public Citizen to reach an innovative agreement. This new agreement provides for an additional regulatory review of environmental controls at Luminant's Oak Grove power plant and provides for Luminant to offset any emissions above the final levels set in that regulatory review. In return, the environmental and consumer groups have agreed to forego legal opposition to the construction and operation of the Oak Grove facility, although they may participate in the additional regulatory review.

NETAC & Luminant Detail East Texas Voluntary Emission Reduction Plan
Luminant and the Northeast Texas Air Care Group (NETAC) today announced details of the company's East Texas voluntary emission reduction plan for the region. The goal of the voluntary plan is to install new technology to voluntarily offset 100 percent of key emissions from new coal power plants and lowering coal-fueled key emissions even further to 20 percent below 2005 levels.

The action delivers on Luminant’s commitment to terminate the permit process upon close of the TXU merger transaction that closed this past Wednesday.
